What does the price include?
Unless otherwise stated in the workshop description, the price of each trip includes lodging, transportation, ferry / boat fees, guide fees and entry fees / permits during the workshop. Some workshops may offer options of with and without lodging such as our Cyrstal Coast Wild Horse Photography Workshop. We will pick you up from the airport and drop you off as well so that you do not have to worry about cab fees or rental cars.
Food is not covered in the price of the workshop. We will typically enjoy meals together as a group, but since there is a wide variety of tastes and prices we leave this part up to you.
Jared Lloyd Photography does not rent equipment to participants. However, we recommend checking out http://www.lensrentals.com or http://www.borrowlenses.com for all your lens / camera body / photo accessory needs. As many of our workshops focus heavily and even solely upon wildlife photography, having the right tools for the job is critical for having a successful shoot. There is absolutely no reason in the world to go out and purchase a new lens or camera just for a workshop. Rent the equipment you need for a tiny fraction of the cost!
We strive to provide you with the absolute best experience possible. We want you to have the one on one time that you need and the personal attention that you deserve on these workshops. For that reason, Jared Lloyd limits all of his workshops to only 5 participants. This is almost unheard of in the photography workshop world, but this insures that we can access locations that larger groups would or could not, keep wildlife subjects at ease, and put the attention where it deserves – on you.
The workshops that we offer take a considerable amount of logistics and planning to put together many months in advance of the trip. Hotels, rental houses, guide services, insurance, permits (often times for as many as 3 and 4 different agencies for one trip), etc. . . these are just a few of the many aspects that must be arranged in advance for a trip. For this reason we are unable to offer a refund on deposits. If you must cancel we will try to work with you on transferring your deposit to another workshop of your choice but we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for this very reason – see below. If we are able to re-book your spot on the trip however, than we will provide you with a full refund of your deposit minus a small processing fee.
Life is full of surprises. The best laid plans can unravel right in front of you for an infinite number of reasons. Purchasing travel insurance, even for the smaller and less expensive workshops and photography safaris, gives you that peace of mind that whatever life may throw at you, you are covered in regards to money spent for your workshop with us. If you have never purchased travel insurance before, you may be quite surprised at how incredibly affordable it is. As an example: for a $2000 trip, you can typically find insurance for less than $100! Check out the link below. It takes about 15 seconds and you can have quotes from several different companies to compare what it would cost to insure your trip with us. http://www.insuremytrip.com
