So it was only yesterday that I updated the Journal with a few of my recent owl photographs. As those of you that read it yesterday know, I said that I would be posting more of the great grey owl as the summer progressed. Unfortunaly I have to report that Sunday night, this owl was struck and killed by a car.
I was fortunate enough to have spent many hours just simply watching and observing this awe inspiring creature. Through a spotting scope, binoculars, and the view finder of my camera, I learned so much about the ecology and behavior of this species. To hear of its death was like learning of the death of an intimate friend.
