Eastern Surfing Association – OBX style

As a massive low pressure system churned up our skies and seas for the last week, everybody who owned a surfboard on the Outer Banks was waiting patiently for the weekend to come. Forecasts were for winds to switch around to a light offshore and hopefully provide some good ol fashion September swell. For the OBX ESA contest – this was pay dirt. Or water.  Here are a couple from the competetion – both from the junior men’s finals.

In the first photograph, the dark pea soup color of the wave gave an even balance the photograph and therefore I post processed as normal. The second photograph, due to the fact that I was shooting more or less into the sun at the time, I worked out as more of a high key image.
