This month has been insanely busy for me. . . just the way I like it! As the saying goes, if you do what you love you never work a day in your life.
In between my two Winter in Yellowstone workshops this year Doug Gardner and I filmed an episode of Wild Photo Adventures in the winter wonderland of Yellowstone. Bobcats, wolves, coyotes, bison, elk, bighorn sheep, and so much more! This episode of season 5 is going to be awesome. If you have never had the opportunity to experience Yellowstone in the winter as a photographer, get ready to be blown away.
I would argue that this place is the number location in North America for big mammals and winter is above all, the best time to be here. 2.2 million acres of pristine habitat becomes narrowed down to just a few key valleys and canyons where the vast majority of Yellowstone’s wildlife congregates as the snows deepen and the temperatures continue to plummet. With the only intact ecosystem in the lower 48 states, and every single animal still present that was here before Columbus set sail in 1492, I know of no other place on the continent that I would rather be in the winter.
Season 5 will premier this fall.
